The Month of June.

Wow... it has been forever since I last posted anything. Brint and I have had some major life changing experiences this month of June. First, I was able to reunite with my father and his family for really the first time. I say first time because my memories of him are very limited and when I was little i don't really remember him. But I am now beginning a new relationship with him and his family and I can not tell you how happy I am. I now have 3 brothers, Chandler, Cooper, and Jaxson and 3 sisters, Kacie, Madison, and Tess. I am so excited (especially about have brothers now, its so cool!) Curtis and Wendy are two wonderful parents and their children are so
obedient and loving towards one another. It is wonderful to sit back and watch this family interact with one another. I am not used to having so much love in my home (when I lived with my parents). Brint and I are so excited to get to know the McCullough family. It brings me comfort and joy to finally have this "dream" of mine come true... :) Thank you McCullough's for opening your arms to Brint and I and welcoming us into your home. It is truly wonderful.
Second, this month has been emotional. Brint and I had a friend, brother, example, loved one, and a one of a kind kinda guy. Travis Alexander aka "Alexander the Great" was found killed in his home on Monday June 9. Brint got a phone call Monday night from a mutual friend asking him if he has talked to Travis or seen him recently and Brint told him that he hadn't. About 2 hours later Brint gets another phone call from that same friend saying that Travis was found dead in his room. Brint and I left our home immediately to go over to Travis's house to see what was going on. The police were there and the home was caution taped off. More friends of Travis's showed up at his home. We ended up staying there until 2:30 in the morning. Brint was asked to go down to the Police Station to give a statement and we ended up not getting home until 5 in the morning. That was a hard, very emotional, and long night. Tuesday even got harder. Brint had to make many phone calls to mutual friends of Travis's. I can not believe how strong my husband is. He was able to get through talking to people and telling the story over and over again. I really don't think I could or even would want to continually re-live the situation each time to someone new and have to listen to the shared tears shed on Travis's behalf.

It was a long week. Brint and I were able to comfort one another and be strong when the other is feeling weak. The detectives allowed the family to go into the home on Friday and we went over to help move Travis's personal items and help Travis's sisters get the things taken care of that needed to get done. There was a memorial here in Mesa, AZ for Travis on Monday June 16. What a beautiful service. I can not express to you how strong the spirit was there and how many people showed up to show there love for this man. We are heading to California on Friday the 20th to attend the funeral in Riverside, California on Saturday. Brint and I will be singing a song at the funeral called "Prepare to meet the Lord" from Afterglow. If you have not heard this song, it is Travis's favorite song and it is beautiful. Brint and Travis were going to sing it in church one Sunday and they didn't get that chance. This song is very special to Brint because it was Travis's favorite song and he wanted Brint to sing it with him.
Travis was a truly remarkable person. He was most defiantly a unique person. He loved everyone and lived his life in acts of service. If anyone needed any kind of help Travis was always there lending a helpful hand. He loved life. He loved the Gospel. He was constantly sharing his testimony of the Gospel to whoever would listen. We will miss him so much. We love you Travis.
Thank you to all of you who have loved and supported us through this hard time. We are so blessed to have people around us like you all.

Love,

Brint and Brea

So this weekend Brint and I went up to Snowflake, Arizona to visit some family. While we were there we got to pretend that we were Farmers. Uncle Phil got us up at 6am to eat breakfast and then get working on our chores. First what we did was we milked the cow. Her name was Boots. They called her that because if you look at the pictures she has white boots on... I thought it was a nice name for her. Well as i was attempting to milk her, I sat down next to her and Phil said that I better hurry and get up because she is going to splat! I soon found out what that meant! She took a LARGE dump and if i was still sitting next to her it would have got all over me! Brint was laughing pretty hard. IT STUNK!!!! Then she warmed up to us. We were able to milk her and I was able to give brint a little taste (see picture below).

Yes that is for real... me the "valley girl" milking a COW!!!
Oh my gosh it was so much fun!!!!
I was trying to feed Brint some milk... It ended up getting all over his face
and his shirt. I thought it was pretty funny but I don't think he did. I guess you
could say that I am a pretty bad aim! hahaha.... It was so much fun!

After the milking was all done it was feeding time. We went around on the farm and watched as the guy fed all the cows. Then we headed over to Roma Lee's family's ranch and got to drive over where the heard of cows were and were able to feed them. Man their food smells rotten! But it works for them. We had some left over melons and we threw them in the food stalls and i think the cows enjoyed their little treat.
Soon after that we were able to go and round up some horses. We went riding for about 2 hrs or so. I got the horse to go loping ( which is between a trot and a fast run). I had so much fun. But don't you worry I woke up the next morning and my bootie was SO sore... I have some pictures of us on the horses be we haven't downloaded them yet. When we do I will post them up.
Well that is my experience as a Farm girl. Thanks Phil and Roma Lee....
