So Duke thinks that he can just hang out and chill on the couch! 

So I had him come with me to surprise dad with a nice treat...

Duke's Graduation Day

Duke Graduated from Puppy training yesterday afternoon... He did so well at all of his tasks that he had to preform. We played a game called doggy tick-tac-toe and Duke WON!!! That's my boy! I am so proud of him! Here are some picture from graduation day...

Happy B-day to ME!!!!

Yesterday was the best day ever! It was my birthday and seriously I have the BEST husband anyone could ask for!!!

Let me start at the beginning of the day... I got to work and the gals at work totally decorated my office and wrapped my desk and put up balloons and covered my desk with tons of candy! They also got me a few presents... a water fountain, a cookbook, a piggy bank that says shoe fund on it, and the best thing ever... a picture frame of Duke!!

Then the girls took me out to lunch for my b-day and we went to PF Chang's! YUMMY!!!! It was so good... then I got home and got to see Mr. Duke and there were 2 dozen roses on my counter along with 2 boxes of milk duds (my favorite) and our candy jar filled with peanut butter MM's (also my favorite). He filled the freezer with our favorite ice cream and then inside the card was 2 tickets to the Broadway musical The Lion King!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!!! I totally freaked out!!! I was jumping up and down and Duke was jumping with me. It was so funny! We are going January 29, 2009 and sitting 3rd ROW!!!!! HECK YEAH!!!! I'm stoked! anyway then we went to dinner at our favorite restaurant Geko Grill (yummy) and then headed over to my in-laws house and I got more gifts! It was such a great day! thanks to all that were involved! you made it really special for me. :)

Worse NEWS ever!!!!!!

So yesterday Brint went home for lunch and there was a white piece of paper hanging from out door. That one piece of paper truly killed my day yesterday.... it was our managers at our apartment complex. It told us that we have to get rid of our dog. We have 5 days to get rid of him and fix the problem or else our contract will be terminated and we will be charged with all the penalty charges. That news sat really heavy on our shoulders. Wow... what are we going to do?

Well the reason for this was, they stated in the letter, that our animal was found unattended on our balcony. That there is no record of us having a dog on our contract. And that we have been found cleaning off our balcony and letting the soapy water run to the rocks below and it is ruining the exterior paint of the building. And we need to fix it or we will get charged to get the entire building repainted.

Well for starters we have a doggy door and so Duke is able to hang out inside the apartment while we are gone and if he has to use the restroom while we are out then he knows that he can go outside on the balcony. Yes, we have cleaned off the balcony and there is soap residue on the exterior wall but nothing that can't be cleaned with water and a scrub brush or even a water pressure hose. I am really flustered about this whole thing.

Unfortunately they are correct about Duke not being listed on our contract, but about 3-4 months ago (right after we got Duke) Brint went in to pay our rent and while he was there he asked the lady what he needed to do to get our dog on our contract and the lady told him not to worry about it that we didn't need to report the dog. And Brint didn't want to push it, or even get the gal into trouble, but now we are both wishing that we did!

So Brint is meeting with the woman that wrote up our letter and he is going to see if we can keep Duke if we promise to Kennel him while we are gone so that means that he is not allowed to roam the house, and then we will take in out and let him use the restroom out in the grass with all the other dogs of the apartment. Also, if they allow us to try and clean the exterior wall and if it is up to their standards then we will not have to pay for the entire building to be repainted.

I am feeling like they are taking my dog from us and not even giving us a chance to try and make the situation better or even try and resolve it and try come to an understanding. When I got home yesterday I told Brint that we should just have them terminate our contract and we can just go and rent a house and then we can have a back yard for Duke to be in. And really, that is what he needs. I feel so bad all the time that we are keeping our puppy lock inside an apartment and not able to go and run during the day. Well I just hope that the Lady is in a good mood today and that she is feeling generous. Cross your fingers!!!! Because if she is in a bad mood and we are leaving... well we are going to need help moving!!!
