*bragging a little*

Since we've been home Brint and I have been determined to loose a few pounds. Brint has been working out at the school's gym and I have been going to Zumba classes twice a week and I just started running twice a week. Zumba is SO MUCH FUN! If you have not had a chance to go and try it out- DO IT! You'll love it. It seriously helps you relieve stresses of everyday stuff and makes you feel alive. It's so much fun and a GREAT workout! BUT the real reason I am writing this post is to brag a little bit....

This is what I see at the end of a hard run before I turn around and head back!
**BEAUTIFUL HAWAII!!**
I cannot believe that we are in our final year of school... Its almost surreal! I am so proud of my hubby! He has done SO GOOD! Hopefully next semester will be a breeze! He'll graduate on May 13, 2011 from Law School and then Dec 2012 from Business Scool (yes, he is doing a joint degree). At the end of it all he'll have received his JD/MBA and we'll be done with school! Not sure yet if we'll be leaving Hawaii, even though it's looking that way, or if he'll be offered a good job here. We'll see.... Until then we've made a bucket list of activities that we want to do while we're still here in Hawaii:

Bucket List

*Kayak off to one of the smaller islands off of Oahu.
*Hike Stairway to Heaven
*Hike Maunawili Falls
*Swim with Sharks in the shark cages (this ones more for Brint)
*Visit the Big Island
*Kona Temple
*watch a surfing competition
*See the Sacred Falls

Little musician in the making!

Our good friends Kamuela & Roxy are amazing people. They are both so musical and so passionate about music. Kamuela has a band, here in Hawaii, and they go around playing for different tourist locations. This time we went to watch and Roxy was there with their son. OH.MY.GOSH! He is just the most adorable little thing ever! This video doesn't show enough at how cute he is!

LET'S GO BOWS!!!

Since this is Brint's last year of school (SO EXCITED) we made it a point to start attending the sporting events! A few weeks ago we went to watch Hawaii's Women's Volleyball! They are Nationally ranked 11 right now and they have a freshman on their team who is awesome!

Then the next weekend we FINALLY went to a UH Football game! WAHOO! We got to have fun at the tailgate before hand with all the law students and then the game was against Colorado State. One of Brint's close friends went to CU and so he was there supporting both colors! HA! They have some die hard fans! BUT Hawaii WON! Yeah baby! Woot-Woot!

We had a really good time! It was fun to get away and enjoy some fun quality time with hubby and friends! :)

Paddle Boarding

One of Brint's good friends came out to Hawaii with some of his friends and was staying on the North Shore. We took a day to go up and hang out with him and rent some paddle boards! SO MUCH FUN! I absolutely LOVE paddle boarding, probably more than surfing! HA!!
Marcelo & Brint with the huge boards on our tiny car! (priceless)
Brint and I rented 1 board for the both of us... We always see people with 2 people on 1 board so we figured it would be easy enough... Let's just say we couldn't stop laughing! HA! We were awful!!!

This picture below is so funny to me because Brint's face... He's like "HAHA we're gonna fall AGAIN! Muwahaha"

and there we go.... HAHA
Marcelo and I went out to the open water and I took some picture of him. These are my favorite! :)

We ended the day sitting on Sunset beach and watching the beautiful sunset! It was so much fun to hang out with Marcelo and feel like a tourist! Definitely made me happy to be home!

Since we've been home....

Tomorrow will make 3 weeks since we've been home from our summer adventures. In the last 3 weeks we have done quite a bit. First off- UNPACKING= NO FUN!
I will say though- I was able to get everything unpacked and clean in 5 days! (I was very proud of myself)
Brint had to start school on that Monday we got back to HI. :( so I had quite a bit of time on my hands. Since then- I have made some home-improvement projects to the house while he's been gone... haha
I started with our room: I have always wanted to paint a wall chocolate brown! :)
Next- our closet door! UGLY! I have been wanting to paint all the doors in our house since the day we moved in... Now I decided to finally do it! :)

BEFORE
AFTER
I think having the doors painted really brighten up the room. I'm pretty pleased with how it all turned out! I also have been trying to find something that I could make to hang all my necklaces on... I finally discovered something that I already had and here's how it turned out:

BEFORE

AFTER
I love having fun little projects! I want to write something on the board with a stencil- but I can't figure out what I want to write yet!

So Brint's been busy with school and I've kept myself busy with all this! HA!! I have more ideas up my sleeve. OH- also, I've planted a few veggies outside in our backyard! Lettuce, Green onions & Basil. They are starting to grow!

The play house and the super ugly tall grass is NOT our yard!
They live below us and it drives me crazy how tall they let their grass get.

My cute little lettuce! I'm so happy! :)

FAMILY!

So the day we got home from Brasil Brint's sister Aryn and her hubby Sean came to grab us from the airport... they brought a surprise with them.... DUKERS!!! I don't know who was happier... us or him! HA!! he was trying to climb out the window to come see us! It was the best surprise EVER!! So by the time we got home and for the week we were home Duke wouldn't let us out of his sight! I think he missed us...

They are doing construction across the street from Brint's parents house and they are digging up part of the groves to build a new development of houses. I guess this has brought out the scorpions in the neighborhood! Well Dad took Ali out to do some scorpion hunting and they found this little guy!

YUCK! I HATE SCORPIONS! Then the next day we were getting ready to leave for Pine, AZ to go up to our family reunion and I'm talking to my sister-in-law Ali and I noticed she had something on her pant leg- so then I'm staring at her leg and I figure out what it is.... SCORPION!!!!! I screamed scorpion and ran away- and Ali started following me and everyone else in the kitchen was trying to figure out why both of us were screaming! So then Dad makes us come back in the kitchen and tell them where we saw it and I told them it was on her leg- low and behold it's still there!!!!!! OH.MY.GOSH! Brint knocked it off and Dad killed it! WOW! Poor Ali! I was pathetically crying and I felt so bad that I was so irrational about it! HAHA it's a story that Dad will enjoy telling FOREVER! LOL :)

My Sister-in-lawAryn, I love her, did my hair for me! I went DARK! :)

Me and the best Mother-in-law EVER!

Here we are on our way up to Pine!

There was a bit of traffic because a trailer had flipped... luckily no one was hurt and the car that it was attached to wasn't badly damaged. But I decided to take some fun pictures! :)

Leslie and Aubry hangin out the window... CUTE GIRLS!

It was SO green and SO beautiful!
The next morning we all got up and went to Fossil Spring! Super fun! The water was chilly, but Duke was lovin life! He was trying to catch all the dragon flies... it was hilarious! at one point he was swimming up stream but not progressing at all! It was like he was swimming on a treadmill! HA!!! Let's just say he was a dead dog by the end of the day!
