Banzai Pipeline

Today Brint had the day off at school so a bunch of the students got together and decided to head to the North Shore. We went to the Banzai Pipeline were Brint got to test out his new boogie board. The only downer of this trip was that it was really stormy today so why I was expecting to have a nice relaxing day at the beach soaking up some sun it was raining off and on the whole time. It was still really fun. Here are some fun pictures I got of Brint. :)  (P.S. the swells were only about 6-8 feet)

Classmate Tiffany out to test the adventure with him.
I am much to chicken to even try!

See what I'm talkin about?!?! HUGE WAVES!
(if you blow this up, you can see him riding the wave in.)

So far from paradise right now!

Do you know what it takes to get one of these???? If your answer is no, then let me explain the pain and torture of getting this!

So after your vehicle lands in Hawaii you have 30 days to register your vehicle in the state of Hawaii. Well in order to register you have to have the following items:

- Prof of No-Fault insurance in the state of Hawaii
-Current registration
-Safety Inspection Certificate
- Receipt of Delivery

So not too bad of a list right?

WRONG!

So here is the start to the day of getting our car registered: Took Brint to school and was having a GREAT morning so far. Our stuff was suppose to come in that day, so you can only imagine how excited I was. Well I called the shipping place just to make sure everything was going smoothly and they hung up on me 3 times and finally the last time I called back I told them they weren't allowed to put me on hold! (I was starting to get angry) So finally I got to talk to someone and asked when our stuff would be arriving and do you know what he told me... "It looks like it's not due to land in Honolulu for another 2 WEEKS!!!!" WHAT?!?!?! (Yeah I was speechless... this was the 3rd time they had told us this.) So of course I make him explain himself and ask 50 questions in 30 seconds! So after that phone called was finished I was LIVID! (this is when the day got even worse) So I go to get Brint so we can go and take care of getting the car registered and we had to go find a gas station that did a Safety Inspection, because heaven forbid they do it at one specific location,  so we pulled up to this one gas station and the guy that was there could barely speak english and pretty much the only thing we got out of him was he couldn't pass the car because the window tint was too dark! YES, TOO DARK! (so I guess in the state of Hawaii your windows can't have any dark tint on them, oh and keep in mind I just got them tinted less than 6 months ago! YEAH!!) So then we tried going to another few gas stations to see if they would say the same thing, we couldn't even find another one that did the Safety Inspection!

Finally, I  just dropped Brint back off at school because it was getting completely ridiculous and I went and found a Tint place to take my window tint off my windows so I could pass this *Insert word* inspection! So $52.00 later my car SUCKED! I can no longer sing in the car unnoticed! :( Then I went back to the gas station and tried to get the inspection again. Well guess who had an expired registration paper? ME! Yeah I didn't have a current registration I had Brint's mustang's current registration. So they much have been switched. So I ended up calling my mother in law and having her go online and finding the current registration and having her her email it to Brint so he could print it out so then we could take it and get this STUPID inspection! Oh man I was beyond mad at this point! I was DONE with Hawaii and wanted to come back to AZ so bad!

So 24 hours later we finally we able to PASS the inspection and go and register our car! What a stinkin JOKE! It was absolutely horrible! But now it is done and check off the list of things to do.

You people who are jealous of us living here, DON'T BE! *Just come visit! :)*

checked off the list

So if you recall, I was terrified of snorkeling after getting back from our honeymoon in Maui. Well after much thought and pretty much Brint and others telling me that I need to get back out and try it again, I attempted snorkeling again and LOVED IT! :)

We went to Hanauma Bay just out side of Hawaii Kai. It was absolutely beautiful! What a great spot for me to learn to snorkel (again). My fear last time I went was I didn't like how shallow it was and I HATED touching the coral... I thought I kicked a fish and it totally FREAKED me out! So now I am proud to say that I have mastered snorkeling (well, maybe "master" isn't the right word...).

The chickens were at the beach just hanging out with everyone. It was really funny!

Oh Dukers, I miss you...

Man-o-man I am really starting to have a hard time here. I am feeling really homesick and really out of place. I cannot even express how much I am missing Duke! I woke up this morning and almost called out his name to come and lay down by me and give me morning kisses like usual. Then I remembered he is not here. And we can't see him until December 19th! :( This brings tears to my eyes.... I Love my puppy!

coming together...

So I finally feel like our place is coming together.... after a long week it is looking nice. First things first, the terminator came and we found 50 roaches that first day. Then a few here and there ever since. Second, the carpet guy came and the carpet actually looks nice! FINALLY! I bought paint yesterday and am painting the house right now. I got the front room done and believe me it looks 20 time better! It actually looks livable! I am so relieved...

Brint has been so busy with school that it has been really hard on me. I still am jobless and that is mostly my fault. I haven't really been seeking a job just quite yet. I wanted to get settled first. And so my day consist of taking Brint to school in the morning 9AM, taking him lunch 12:30-1PM, and last but not least picking him up around 5PM. Mostly I have been working on our place and hate to say it but I am just bored! I really wish that there was someone here. I guess you can say I am getting a little home sick being home by myself for 8 hours a day.

You all must be thinking, "Shut-up you're in HAWAII there is so much that you can do. Go to the beach everyday, go shop around, just have fun and explore." Well let me just tell you all it isn't that fun by YOURSELF!!!! It just gets LAME! :( pretty much I need a job... end of story!

Life in Hawaii

Well we finally moved in, but I will have to say that our first night there was absolutely miserable! The tenants that were there before us were 8 college boys and they like to live the college life. They saved all of the beer cans and liquor bottles so they could recycle them but little did they know they had and infestation of ROACHES! Yeah you heard me ROACHES! YUCK!!!! I absolutely HATE roaches! and don't worry these are not only the small ones but the BIG ones too! They are about and inch long! And they have wings!

So that first night we went out and bought a futon and Brint and I tried setting it up, well we couldn't finish because we didn't have a screwdriver. So we that first night we ended up sleeping on the futon mattress on the floor with all the BUGS! So pretty much we didn't sleep at all! It was truly the worst NIGHT EVER! Poor Brint, he didn't get any sleep and he had to get up the next morning and go to school and try to focus and learn something! He was so beat by the time he got home. But I went out and got a screwdriver and we got that futon set up and were finally able to get a decent night's sleep.

Other than that horrible night and a few buggies here and there, it has been okay. I have had to do a lot of cleaning because the boys didn't clean before they left, but that has giving me something to do, so I won't complain about that. The weather is just beautiful! We actually have no AC and so we went out and bought 4 fans and it's not too bad once you get use to it. Definitely tropical weather. :)

Here are a few pics of our place:
