Praça do Campo Grande

We finally made it... Brint and I have driven past this area several time and have been wanting to come back and do a little exploring of our own and take some pictures. The gardens were beautiful.

After we left the gardens we walked through an area where it is considered the "nice part of town" there were many beautiful building. We also found a little dessert place where they made different kinds of cakes, YUMMY! :)

This was an old plantation house.
This building is the Italian embassy. Our friend Marcia studied Italian there before she went to Italy. (so jealous)
Such beautiful building.
This building use to be a old Portuguese merchant family's home, then in later years it was turned into the Governor's Palace. Now it is a museum. On this particular day, they had an art show going on with beautiful custom art.
I wish I could have taken pictures of the inside and the court yard, but they didn't allow photography.

Brea, this is for you to practice your Portuguese (you don't need Google Translator): as fotos estão ótimas e o passeio parece que foi muito legal (apesar do clima de inverno). Ficamos felizes que vocês estejam se divertindo!
